From lemons to literary triumphs

This journey has taught me how to transform negative energy, navigate new transitions, and convert life's challenges into powerful motivation. While writing my book, I faced numerous difficult situations that made me want to give up. But I chose to channel that adversity into inspiration, determined to make my dream a reality. Every setback fueled my passion and strengthened my resolve.

The creator's corner: where stories unfold

In the Beginning

It's crazy how this dream started as a joke. I was a supervisor at a job that I will not name. My team members were like my children and they acted as such. I had a relationship with each of them individually. One particular day, all of them seemed to have a different issue going on and everybody wanted to talk. After talking to several of them, I told them that I was going to write a book about them. They started to throw out ideas and things to help. We later decided that I'd write a fictional story and I changed it all the way up on them. I went home daily after work and worked on my book. I even worked on my book at their job during my free time, because writing flowed so naturally. I started to like the way it felt to create my own story and be in charge of what the outcome would be. When I woke up daily, all I thought about was writing. When I went to sleep at night, I was thinking about writing. It became a part of me. Writing isn't just what I do. It's who I am.

Faith without work

Many people have issues feeling inspired. Inspiration can come from anywhere. I didn't realize that a lot of the situations happening in my life should have motivated me or inspired me to want growth. This is problematic when we settle for the life that we've been taught to live. Go to school, graduate, go to college, graduate with a degree, find a job in your skill set etc. But I'm one to say that life doesn't always go as planned and your destination may not require a bachelor's degree. The key to unlocking your full potential is investing time in yourself. We all have a hidden talent that could separate us from the rest world, but who's taken the time to see what their talent is? I didn't know my full potential at first and I often questioned God merely about being here.  But God has a plan, you just have to put forth the work and effort. You can't tell God you want a car and never go to even look at one. Blessings don't always fall in your lap. You have to have faith, but faith without works is dead. I'm here to encourage you. Find your talent and pursue it. The harder you work for it, the harder it will work for you. :)

Bruised not Broken

Life has a way of testing you. It will push you to your breaking point and sometimes feel like you can't take anymore. Transitioning in life whether it be a job, a friendship, a relationship, anything with people is bound to change. Life is change. The thing about it is we try to go against the change instead of growing with the change. We have a habit of trying to be in control, but your life is the only control thing you can control. If you don't like something, you don't have to deal with it. Unless you have kids (kmsl). Other than that, let it go.  Let the hurt go, let the bitterness go, stress etc. whatever it may be, let it go. Channel that energy and time that you're wasting into something else. Something meaningful. Something that will mean something to you. It's okay to have bad days. You've had bad days, even when you felt like you had it all together. You can't testify without going through the test. Go through it. Grieve, but don't stay there. Go be with people that make you feel loved. Love them just as much. Do things that you enjoy doing. Happiness is created and we're in charge of our own happiness. This hit me. Before I gave it to you. :) Miracles and blessings

Overthinking

Overthinking can be the absolute worst. Especially in new situations. Often times, we drive ourselves mad wondering what if. Overthinking can be the enemy to our bodies and create issues and complications. I went through a transition, and it changed my life. At first, I felt like my whole world was crashing down on me. I couldn't believe that the situation was happening to me. As if I'm supposed to be excused from hurt, pain, and life being life. No, I didn't expect to be excused, but I never thought that the situations would be so hard. Life has taught me a lot in these last few months. It kicked my ass and pushed me to be a better at the same time. At first, I waddled in the pain and hurt. It had me in a very dark place. I felt like no one understood and it was me against the world. Crazy how your happiness really depends on you. If you let someone have control over you, it can ruin you. In these situations, I found myself always overthinking. Sending myself back to a place that ruined my sanity, peace and self-confidence. But these situations also made me take a look in the mirror and remember who I am. I had to motivate myself and encourage myself. If you don't show up for you, it'll be hard for others to do so also. Not that you need to depend on others, but it takes a village. That saying doesn't only apply to children. It takes a village sometimes. Especially during hard times. Don't overthink, deal with each issue one day at a time, and always be hopeful. If you can imagine the worst, image the best. Your life is what you make it and make it a good one.

Doubts

It's crazy how, becoming who you want to be will have you so emotionally drained. My biggest problem throughout this journey was the spirit of doubt. Wondering who'd show up for me, who would support me, being disappointed when the people i thought would support didn't and worrying myself about succeeding. I had to realize that it doesn't matter who doesn't show up or who doesn't support. It's all about the people who have. Those are the people that you will remember, appreciate and keep with you. Whoever doesn't just miss out on their opportunity to be a part of someone/something great. And that's their problem. Keep pushing, praying and believing because the right people will show up and the right things will happen for you.
